Keith is adjusting to Magee. He has some movement in his wrist. His right arm is strong. Lefty will get there. Baby steps but step in the right direction just the same. Every weeklday he has physical therapy I think maybe twice and occupational therapy. He has every intention of being back to school by September 2012 to continue towards his dream of being a lawyer.
Keith's birthday is Monday, August 1. Let's make it special!!! Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
Information regarding his benefit and ticket contact information can be found below this post.

Magee
Just visited Keith at Magee. Their motto is BELIEVE and Keith believes he will recover. He already has broken one wheelchair and another is being fitted. I don't think they have too many 6'4" patients. He gets to have real showers and eat real food although hospital food isn't exactly the greatest. Baby steps but steps in the right direction. Keep believing and keep praying.

Keith Goes to Magee Today
Today the hard work begins. Keith is being transferred to Magee around lunchtime today. He still needs to have the trach downgraded one more time and then it will be removed. Rehab will be a long slow process but with Keith's determination and our prayers and support he will get better.
Anyone needing tickets for Keith's benefit on August 6 should contact the following:
Jessica Owens (609)254-4946
James Dotts (609)313-2375
Tara Hess (856)449-6855
Kristen Paoletti (484) 343-4376
Also, Keith's Uncle Dave has tickets.
Checks for tickets or donations can be made out to Keith Dunnigan Benefit. If it is more convenient, donations can be made via visa or paypal using the link at the bottom right of this page.
Thank you to everyone for your support. Unfortunately, insurance only covers so much and we are working to help Keith the rest of the way. More than anything we need your prayers for his recovery.

Update
Keith has been moved to a regular room after 42 days in intensive care. He doesn't have any iv's, they cut down the trach a little and will have it so he can talk shortly. He is eating and drinking although he can't have solid foods just yet. They have been putting him in chairs, wheelchair and the chair in his room, and getting his body moving again. The trach should be out and he should be off to Magee by the end of the week. His spirits are good so keep the good thoughts and prayers coming as he works to recover his mobility.

Keith Update
Thirty-nine days after his accident, Keith finally had surgery yesterday and it went well. They braced his neck and decompressed his spine. The next step is to get him off the respirator. They are attempting to do that today. He had previously gone over 24 hours off the respirator but went back on it for surgery. Once that occurs he can be moved to a regular room and out of intensive care for the first time since the accident. When he is off the respirator they can cap it and he can talk and talk and talk and talk. You know Keith will be talking the nurses ears off. After about a week at Jefferson recovering from surgery, he should begin intensive rehab at Magee. Keep the prayers and good thoughts coming.
